OnBoard created Next OnBoard in 2014 to engage motivated early career professionals as they travel the path to senior leadership and perhaps board service.
Next OnBoard provides its members with opportunities to connect with senior executive women and men interested in OnBoard’s mission, learn about board governance, and expand their professional networks. Christina Schenck, Governance Chair
Assistant Southeast Regional Counsel, Century Communities of Georgia, LLC
Christina Schenck is Assistant Southeast Regional Counsel at Century Communities of Georgia, LLC. Century Communities is a publicly traded homebuilder with offices in Colorado, Nevada, Texas and Georgia. Christina’s practice includes all aspects of complex land/lot transactions, such as negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements and conducting land closings. Christina is also responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of general contracts, vendor agreements, and due diligence documents.
Christina received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law. While at Emory, Christina was a member of the Legal Association for Women Students, and served as the Conference Co-Chair and Secretary of the organization. Christina is currently serving as Events Chair of Next OnBoard, an organization that promotes growing the pipeline of board-ready women in Georgia by targeting early-career professionals. Christina is also an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association. This is Christina’s fourth year with Next OnBoard. She previously served as the Events Chair and now is Governance Chair. She is excited to continue to grow the organization and promote its mission.
Alison Cary-Coleman, Governance Chair Elect

Alison Cary-Coleman is an Innovation Director at the Anthem Innovation Studio based in Atlanta, GA. Anthem is one of the largest health benefits companies in the US, serving over 73 million members in over 14 states. As Innovation Director, Alison evaluates current trends and ideas, and identifies emerging capabilities, solutions, and technologies that will provide meaningful value to Anthem, its associates, its customers, its providers, and its partners. Alison shepherds innovative ideas through the organization and into market by using design thinking and agile methodologies in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare leaders.
Prior to Anthem, Alison was a Strategy & Operations Manager for Deloitte Consulting, where she led teams serving clients in the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector with a focus on operational improvement, cost management, and innovation strategy.
Alison has a dual Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and Health Administration (MHA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Anna Biegen, Events Chair
Customer Fulfillment Manager, Novelis
Anna Biegen is currently serving as the Events Chair of Next OnBoard where she looks forward to supporting the growth of the pipeline of board-ready women in Georgia. Anna is the Demand & Customer Fulfillment Manager at Novelis, the global leader in aluminum rolled products and the world’s largest recycler of aluminum. Novelis supplies premium aluminum sheet to automotive, transportation, packaging, construction, industrial and consumer electronics markets. In her role, Anna is accountable for all customer communications, as well as inputs to the Sales and Operations Plans for Novelis North Americas’ largest automotive customer.
Prior to Novelis, she worked as a Management Trainee and Engine Specialist for Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s largest third party logistics providers. Anna holds her Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Wiesbaden Business School, Germany.
Yelena Abalmazova, Events Chair Elect
Associate Attorney, Kitchens Kelley Gaynes, P.C.
Yelena is an Associate Attorney at Kitchens Kelley Gaynes, P.C. Yelena’s practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, finance, and development. She assists clients with various business and real estate matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements, and closing sale and loan transactions. She also teaches an undergraduate business law course at Georgia State University. Prior to her current employment, Yelena served as an Assistant District Attorney in Hall County, where she represented the State of Georgia in the prosecution of felonies.
Yelena received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2012, and a B.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business in 2008.
Cortney Crane, Marketing Co-Chair
Senior Associate, Exponent
Cortney Crane, PhD is a Senior Associate with Exponent in their Atlanta Office. Exponent is a publicly traded multi-disciplinary engineering and scientific consulting firm that works on some of the most contemporary and prominent engineering problems in the world. With Exponent, Cortney cultivates long lasting client relationships with corporations, insurers, individuals, and their counsel while investigating, analyzing, and preventing accidents and failures. Cortney specializes in a broad range of technical issues related to failures of structures and system components as a result of corrosion, fracture, coatings, and paint issues. Cortney has completed Level 2 of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Coatings Inspector Program (CIP), and is certified to conduct analyses of various paint and corrosion protective-coating systems applied to a wide variety of surfaces including steel, aluminum, wood and cementitious structures.
Prior to joining Exponent, Cortney completed her Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering at the University of Virginia focusing on corrosion and cracking of aluminum alloys used on US Navy ships. She found her love of science at Emory University where she completed her Bachelors of Science in Physics.
Cortney has been a member of Next Onboard for the last year and is proud to be part of an organization that supports women in their pursuit of executive leadership and board roles. She is honored to be working at Exponent, an organization with strong female leadership at all levels, including President and future CEO.
Kristy Barker, Marketing Co-Chair
Director of Marketing, Benevis Practice Services
Kristy Barker is the Director of Marketing at Benevis Practice Services, headquartered in Marietta, Georgia. Benevis is a comprehensive practice services company committed to improving healthcare access by providing non-clinical, business support services to healthcare organizations. Benevis’ client Kool Smiles is one of the nation’s leading providers of quality dental services and is focused on providing care for children and adults in underserved communities. In her role as Marketing Director, Kristy is responsible for leading strategy and execution within multiple channels including CRM, digital, television, and public relations.
Prior to her role at Benevis, Kristy managed online marketing and communications for a variety of clients, ranging from local nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies. Kristy is passionate about all things marketing and is most fulfilled when using her experiences to better the lives of others.
Kristy received her Bachelor of Science in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she specialized in Marketing and Industrial Organizational Psychology. While at Georgia Tech, Kristy interned with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and discovered her professional path at the nexus of marketing, community initiatives and technology. Kristy is currently serving as Marketing Co-Chair of Next OnBoard.
Allie Damico, Membership Chair

Allie Damico is an Assistant Vice President and Associate Relationship Manager at PNC Bank. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, PNC Financial Services Group is the 6th largest bank in the U.S. by assets, with offices in 39 states and select regions around the globe. As a leader in Corporate and Institutional Banking, PNC provides services for more than two thirds of Fortune 500 companies and continues to be a top 5 arranger of traditional Middle Market Loan Syndications.
In her current role, Allie is responsible for supporting a team of 6 Bankers in the Middle Market and Large Corporate space who focus primarily on establishing and developing relationships with companies to primarily provide debt financing for working capital needs, M&A and IPOs, along with offering ancillary business solutions through other Corporate Banking segments and product partners, including treasury management, foreign exchange, derivatives, equipment financing etc. Allie has experience in cash flow analysis, modeling, structuring, pricing models, client interaction, pitch-books and internal executive presentations. Prior to her current role, Allie was a Senior Associate in Underwriting for PNC’s Regional Credit Product’s Group.
Allie graduated from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School with an undergraduate BBA degree with concentrations in Finance and Marketing. Originally from Pittsburgh, Allie has called Atlanta home for 6 years and looks forward to continuing to make connections in the Atlanta area and through Next OnBoard. Allie is honored to be the Membership Chair and is excited for the upcoming year.
Christina Bortz, Membership Chair Elect
Associate, Alston & Bird LLP
Christina Bortz is an Associate in Alston & Bird LLP’s Securities Litigation Group. She focuses her practice primarily on securities class action litigation, derivative suits, regulatory compliance, regulatory and internal investigations, enforcement actions and corporate governance disputes. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Christina practiced investment management law in New York, counseling investment advisers, mutual funds, and boards of directors. She is very dedicated to pro bono legal work and has helped clients navigate immigration, family law, and domestic violence matters.
Christina graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Politics and served as co-captain of the field hockey team, competing in the NCAA Final Four. She earned a J.D. at the George Washington University Law School, where she was editor-in-chief of the International Law in Domestic Courts Journal and graduated with honors.
Christina is very excited to help grow the Next OnBoard membership in 2018 as a Membership Chair-Elect.
