OnBoard created Next OnBoard in 2014 to engage motivated early career professionals as they travel the path to senior leadership and perhaps board service.
Next OnBoard provides its members with opportunities to connect with senior executive women and men interested in OnBoard’s mission, learn about board governance, and expand their professional networks. Carrie Gorman, Governance Chair
Healthcare Enterprise Solution Executive, GHX
Carrie Gorman is an Enterprise Solution Executive for GHX, Global Healthcare Exchange. GHX is a software as a service company that is reducing the cost of doing business in healthcare by automating supply chain processes and improving visibility into the products and suppliers used in patient care by building the world’s largest community of healthcare trading partners, connecting supply chain, finance, and clinical professionals with their suppliers.
As an Enterprise Solution Executive, Carrie is responsible for bringing complex supply chain software solutions into the healthcare provider community. Carrie is strategic with each customer and consults the health system to identify how to address their pain points with efficient supply chain and e-commerce processes by utilizing the GHX solutions. Before GHX, Carrie was the Southeast Account Development Manager for Vendormate, Inc., a private company that helps healthcare providers and suppliers form business relationships with simplified and streamlined supply chain processes. Because of the synergies in the healthcare supply chain market, Vendormate was acquired by GHX in November 2014. Carrie graduated with cum laude from Clemson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in Advertising at Clemson University in 2010. This is Carrie’s third year with Next OnBoard. She previously served as the Marketing Co-Chair and now is Governance Chair-Elect. She continues to feel honored to be a part of an organization that supports women in board roles in public and private companies.
Christina Schenck, Governance Chair Elect
Real Estate Counsel, Century Communities of Georgia, LLC
Christina Schenck is Real Estate Counsel at Century Communities of Georgia, LLC. Century Communities is a publicly traded homebuilder with offices in Colorado, Nevada, Texas and Georgia. Christina’s practice includes all aspects of complex land/lot transactions, such as negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements and conducting land closings. Christina is also responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of general contracts, vendor agreements, and due diligence documents.
Christina received her J.D. From Emory University School of Law. While at Emory, Christina was a member of the Legal Association for Women Students, and served as the Conference Co-Chair and Secretary of the organization. Christina is currently serving as Events Chair of Next OnBoard, an organization that promotes growing the pipeline of board-ready women in Georgia by targeting early-career professionals. Christina is also an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association.
Erin Elliot (Ustaoglu), Events Chair
Attorney at Elliott Immigration Law LLC
Erin Elliott (Ustaoglu), Esq. is the managing attorney of Elliott Immigration Law LLC. She focuses her practice 100% on immigration law, representing individuals, families and companies. After attending Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, Erin continued her education at Loyola Law School in New Orleans. Upon her graduation from law school, she returned to Atlanta and began her career at a national law firm where she represented clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small start-ups. She opened her own law practice in 2011 to assist businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals in navigating the, often intimidating, U.S. immigration legal system.
Erin is a USCIS attorney liaison for the American Immigration Lawyers Association and an active member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and the Atlanta Bar Association. Erin also volunteers for Catholic Charities of Atlanta- Immigration Legal Services and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
Anna Biegen, Events Chair Elect
Customer Fulfillment Manager, Novelis
Anna Biegen is currently serving as the Events Chair Elect of Next OnBoard where she looks forward to supporting the growth of the pipeline of board-ready women in Georgia. Anna is the Demand & Customer Fulfillment Manager at Novelis, the global leader in aluminum rolled products and the world’s largest recycler of aluminum. Novelis supplies premium aluminum sheet to automotive, transportation, packaging, construction, industrial and consumer electronics markets. In her role, Anna is accountable for all customer communications, as well as inputs to the Sales and Operations Plans for Novelis North Americas’ largest automotive customer.
Prior to Novelis, she worked as a Management Trainee and Engine Specialist for Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s largest third party logistics providers. Anna holds her Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Wiesbaden Business School, Germany.
Shandrea Fleming, Marketing Chair
Software Developer, General Motors
Shandrea Fleming has acquired professional experience in both private and public sectors. She has 7+ years experience providing professional IT services to Federal agencies, management consultancies, and various Fortune 500 companies. Her focus is helping firms strengthen client relationships through implementation, IT strategic planning, process improvement and increasing organizational performance. Companies such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte and currently General Motors have used Shandrea’s expertise to gather business requirements, develop executive-level presentations, and perform software development. Shandrea’s hard work has led her to become a top performer and sought after business analyst, I.T. consultant and software developer.
Shandrea serves as an active member of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority where she participate in various community service projects. She also serves as an active member in the National Black MBA Association where she volunteers on the special events committee. She assists people with professional development, resume writing, negotiation skills and interview tips as a volunteer with the annual Professional Development Symposium.
Shandrea achieved her Masters of Science degree in Information Technology from Kennesaw State University. She achieved her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 1 year old son.
Jessica Foster, Marketing Chair Elect
Brand Manager, Belgard for Oldcastle Architectural Group
Jessica Foster is a Brand Manager for the residential hardscapes division, Belgard, for Oldcastle Architectural Group. As a Brand Manager for Belgard, Jessica is responsible for developing strategic marketing plans for the professional and retail channel, ensuring a positive and robust user experience at POS and developing content strategies for both the consumer and trade customer segments. Focusing on bringing new product innovation to the market and driving leads to the sales channel, Jessica ensures all aspect of the Belgard brand are positively represented.
Jessica has been a member of Next Onboard for the last year and has participated as a volunteer on the Marketing Team for 2015.
Jam Yap, Membership Chair
Assurance Senior Manager, BDO USA, LLP
Jam Yap is an Assurance Senior Manager at BDO USA, LLP. BDO provides assurance, tax, financial advisory, and consulting services to a wide range of publicly traded and privately held companies – clients of all sizes across industries, throughout the country, and around the globe.
Jam has significant audit experience serving manufacturing and distribution companies and other service industries. Her clients include both public and privately held companies, including audits of internal controls over financial reporting. Jam also has significant experience in employee benefit plans audits including audits of defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, 403b plans and 11-k audits. She is also the Southeast regional practice leader of BDO’s national employee benefit plan audit practice.
Jam is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accountancy at Ateneo de Davao University Philippines where she graduated cum laude. She relocated here in the United States to pursue an auditing career at BDO. Jam is very excited about her new role and look forward to meeting and working with outstanding women at Next OnBoard.
Elena Giel, Membership Chair Elect

Elena Giel is an Associate Relationship Manager at PNC Bank. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, PNC Financial Services Group is the 6th largest bank in the US with offices in 35 states and select regions around the globe. As a leader in Corporate and Institutional Banking, PNC provides services for more than two thirds of the Fortune 500 and more than 32,000 corporate clients.
In her current role, Elena manages a portfolio of lower middle market and commercial clients while also strategically supporting other bankers on her team who cover the state of Georgia. Elena has experience in a range of analytical and sales functions including risk adjusted profitability models, financial models, cash flow and leverage analyses, peer comparison models, assembling prescreens and pitch books, participating in client and prospect meetings, structuring deals with internal credit teams, and reviewing and presenting loan documents. She also has amassed product knowledge in the areas of treasury, foreign exchange, derivatives, ABL lending, equipment finance, wealth, and institutional assets including 401k plans. Before joining the Atlanta team, Elena spent time in Cleveland and Pittsburgh with PNC in various roles.
Elena graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, a minor in Italian, and an International Business Certificate. This is Elena’s second year in Next OnBoard. She is excited to be a part of the incoming leadership team for an organization that is dedicated to women’s advancement in board positions of large companies. Other organizations she is regularly involved in include the Atlanta Humane Society, Young ACG, ATLeaders, NAWBO, and World Affairs Council of Atlanta.
