The 2019-2020 Advocates List Campaign Is Underway
As we celebrate our 27th year, we invite you to join a select group of women and men executives, managing partners and corporate directors who have accepted the invitation to be an OnBoard Advocate. Advocates support our mission to increase the number of women in executive leadership and on corporate boards. This year with new benefits including membership. Want to know more? Invitations have been sent to your email address. New Advocates, who join by August 2nd will also be invited to attend. Your invitation will be sent to you. RSVP’s are required. Scholarship Opportunity for the New Brenau University Executive Women’s MBA Program
OnBoard has partnered with Brenau University in offering a $10,000 scholarship towards the University’s Inaugural Executive Women’s MBA (EWMBA) program! OnBoard members, Advocates and friends are invited to apply. It is a great opportunity for any woman who would like to position herself for continued professional growth through earning a top-ranked Executive Women’s MBA. Brenau welcomes applications from female candidates with a minimum of five years management experience who are looking to advance to the C-suite. More information on the program. Women on Boards
Sovos Brands, a food and beverage company, announced the appointment of Carol Tomé to its board of directors, where she will also chair the company’s audit committee. Carol is currently chief financial officer of Home Depot (NYSE: HD). Her retirement later this year was just announced.
Cheryl Bachelder has joined the board of Chick-fil-A.
OnBoard Announces the 2019 Executive Leadership Honor Roll
The OnBoard Executive Leadership Honor Roll recognizes women who are in executive leadership positions. It is awarded annually to 3 Georgia based women leaders to highlight OnBoard’s mission to increase the number of women in executive leadership. An honor roll honoree is a Georgia based woman in a significant leadership role within her organization. She is a role model of career achievement and is building the credentials that place her in the pipeline, either now or in the future, for corporate board membership. The 2019 honorees are:

New Women on Boards
Heather H. Wilson has joined the board of Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX). Ms. Wilson, the chief data scientist of L Brands, Inc. (NYSE:LB) will also serve on the board’s Technology Committee.
Call for Nominations: 2019 Executive Leadership Honor Roll
Announcing the call for nominations for the 2019 Executive Leadership Honor Roll highlighting 3 Georgia executive women who are building the credentials to be in the pipeline for board service. Honorees will be recognized at the June 18th OnBoard breakfast as well as be the panelists for a discussion about their career and leadership experiences. Nominations are due by April 29, 2019 so nominate an inspiring woman executive before the deadline. More Information & Application
New Women on Boards
Rosalind Brewer has joined the board of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN). Roz is Group President, Americas and Chief Operating Officer of Starbucks Corporation She is a past president and current Advocate of OnBoard.
OnBoard Development Group Taking Applications for 2019 Class
The 2019 OnBoard Development Group class will accept up to 10 women who are board ready for private or public for-profit boards. The six monthly sessions, starting in March, prepare the participants to raise their visibility for board candidacy. Past participant Terri Johdahl, CEO of CAB Incorporated, said: “You really do an awesome job on (OBDG)…What a wonderful service you are providing for aspiring women board members”. Application deadline is March 8, 2019 but early submission is recommended as the seats will be filled as qualified participants are accepted. More information and application form.

Dr. Julie A. Shimer Named 2018 Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Recipient
Dr. Julie A. Shimer, board member of Georgia based Avanos Medical, Inc. (NYSE: AVNS) was honored as the 16th Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Award recipient at OnBoard’s Annual Awards Dinner on Nov. 8, 2018. She also serves on the boards of: Windstream Communications, LLC (NASDAQ: WIN) Netgear, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR) and Apollo Endosurgery, Inc. (NASDAQ: APEN).CEO Joe Woody of Avanos introduced Dr. Shimer ending with “Julie’s devotion to diversity is reflected in Avanos.
